Self Portrait | I hate my nose

“When I was 14 my dad informed me that my life would be better if I had a nose job. He assured me it wasn’t my fault,
that I just had “my mother’s nose” (my parents are divorced) and luckily I didn’t have to keep it.

Some things stay with you…”  Sara Teresa Photography

Philip Larkin – This Be The Verse

They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.

But they were fucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another’s throats.

Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don’t have any kids yourself.

That’s amazing. A smart and interesting self portrait that despite or because of not showing the artists full features it becomes more personal. Bravo!
